Savannah Guthrie Is Reportedly ‘Like Best Friends’ With Her Missing Mom: ‘Obsessed With Each Other’

 Savannah Guthrie is “very, very close” to her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, a source told People.

“They’re like best friends,” another source added for the story published on Monday, February 2, the day after news broke that Today anchor’s mom had been reported missing.

Nancy, 84, was last seen at her home in Catalina Foothills, Arizona, on Saturday, January 31.

“Savannah and her mom are obsessed with each other,” another insider told the outlet. “Her mom is her world. Nancy beams whenever she talks about Savannah.”

Guthrie, 54, wasn’t part of Monday’s episode of Today, but a statement she had released was read out to viewers.

“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom,” the statement read. “We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

She also took to Instagram on Monday, February 2. “We believe in prayer. we believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. we believe in goodness. we believe in humanity. above all, we believe in Him,” she wrote.

“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant,” she continued. “raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. we need you. ‘He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.’ a verse of Isaiah for all time for all of us. Bring her home.”
