Robert Irwin ‘Totally Smitten’ with Xochitl Gomez, Wants to Show Her Around Australia (Exclusive)

Robert Irwin isn’t just bringing the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy back home to Australia. Star can reveal that the Dancing with the Stars winner, 22, wants to whisk rumored galpal Xochitl Gomez away on a romantic tour of his native country.

“He’s talking about all the things he wants to do with Xochitl,” spills a source. “He can’t wait to bring her back to Australia and show her all his favorite places, especially his family’s zoo.”

The wildlife conservationist is “totally smitten” with the 19-year-old actress, adds the source, “and is already talking about how well she’s going to fit in with his family and friends back home.”

The two most important people she’ll need to impress, though, are his mom Terri Irwin and sister Bindi Irwin.

“Robert is very family-oriented. Anyone who dates him becomes part of his wider circle,” the source explains. “It’s super important to him that they like Xochitl and he’s sure everyone will because she’s such a sweetheart.”

Their chemistry was on full display during week nine of the competition show, which saw contestants like Irwin paired up with past winners like Gomez. While the zookeeper played it coy when TMZ asked if he and Gomez were an item, the Marvel star was in attendance at the November 25 finale, where she surprised the season 34 champ with a bouquet of flowers before he took the ballroom.

“Everyone is thrilled for Robert because he’s totally smitten with Xochitl,” shares the source. “There is a sense of caution because no one wants to see him get hurt, but he’s way too caught up in the excitement of it all to heed any warnings.”
