Xochitl Gomez Wishes ‘DWTS’ Champ Robert Irwin a Happy Birthday on Instagram Amid Romance Rumors

Robert Irwin was feeling the love on his birthday.

The Dancing With the Stars champion posted an adorable series of childhood snaps on Instagram on Monday, December 1 with the caption: “22 today but forever trying to recapture the aura of this icon.”

DWTS pros Witney Carson, Sasha Farber and Pasha Pashkov and season 33 winner Joey Graziadei flooded the comments section with congratulations — but it was the sweet note left by rumored flame Xochitl Gomez that’s sure to have everyone talking.

“Happy b day,” she wrote, adding a twinkle and cake emoji.

Romance rumors began swirling in November after Irwin was paired up with the 19-year-old actress, who took home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy in season 32, for a choreographed jive to Olly Murs’ “Dance With Me Tonight” in week nine of the competition, with judge Derek Hough praising the duo’s “wonderful” chemistry.

Irwin played it coy when TMZ asked if the two were an item — “she’s the best,” he gushed — but Gomez’s attendance at the DWTS finale on Tuesday, November 25 only fueled speculation. She was even seen surprising the Australian zookeeper with a beautiful bouquet of flowers before he took the ballroom floor in photos published by TMZ.

If the rumors are true, Gomez isn’t the only one shooting their shot with Irwin, who confirmed to E! News that he is single and looking for “the American girl” of his dreams.

“Oh my goodness, the DMs,” the wildlife conservationist previously told Page Six of all the attention he’s gotten from female fans of the hit show. “First of all, it means so much. But, yeah, I’m on the lookout and it’ll happen when it happens … keep it coming!”
