After their acrimonious divorce, Christina Haack and Ant Anstead have made peace. “Ant and I share Hudson,” the HGTV star, 41, recently said of their 5-year-old son. “And I feel like he deserves to have us get along.” True, but sources tell Star that there was someone else who prompted the exes to make nice: Ant’s girlfriend of three years, Renée Zellweger. “She convinced Ant it’s silly to hold grudges and hated seeing him so worked up,” an insider says of the Bridget Jones star, 55. “Things are better now.”
The exes had battled over custody of Hudson, with Ant, 45, arguing that Christina exploited the child in social media ads. Now the pair happily share pics of their boy playing soccer and having fun. “Renée hated seeing Ant so upset over something Christina did, real or perceived, and helped steer them to a truce,” adds the insider. “She’s not going to go around boasting about it, but she got the ball rolling and it’s better for all of them. She loves Hudson and loves spending time with him.”
