Reese Witherspoon Finds New Happiness with Oliver Haarmann: “It’s Exciting and Romantic,” Says Source

They may both be legally single, but Reese Witherspoon has kept her romance with financier Oliver Haarmann mostly under wraps — and a source says it’s making the blossoming romance exhilarating for the twice-divorced star.

“She’s found all the sneaking around exciting and romantic,” says the source of the 49-year-old, who’s been linked to the private equity honcho, 57, since last July. “Oliver is super low-key — he’s not comfortable parading for the cameras. But that suits Reese,” says the source, adding that the Legally Blonde star is also shielding her son Tennessee, 12, with ex Jim Toth, from her love life.

“She and Oliver get hotel rooms during the week, and have found that booking a luxury suite at the Hotel Bel-Air on a workday afternoon is a small price to pay for a little privacy and romance. Her friends are joking that it’s like she’s having an affair.”

After divorces in 2008 and 2023 — from actor Ryan Phillippe and talent agent Jim, respectively — Reese is relishing the “wall of privacy” around her non-Hollywood relationship, notes the source. “With Oliver, she can drop her media-mogul armor. It’s done wonders for her mood.”

The duo haven’t kept their bond entirely private — they were snapped arriving for an NYC date via helicopter, and Reese also donned a New York Islanders cap (Oliver is a part owner of the team). As their relationship heads toward the one- year mark, the source says Reese plans to have him become more involved with her family, including kids Ava, 25, and Deacon, 21, as well as Tennessee.

But for now, the Oscar winner is “just enjoying their one-on-one time,” says the source. “She’s optimistic this has long-term potential.”
