THEIR HAPPY PLACE

Prince William and Princess Kate‘s incredible five-bedroom villa was designed for William’s great-aunt, Princess Margaret, in the early 1970s, now rents for $48,000 a week. Overlooking the water, the gorgeous spread boasts five bedrooms, a pool and a dining courtyard. Naturally, it also offers a staff of five, including a butler, a chef, a gardener and two housekeepers.

On a few occasions, the second-honeymooners ventured out to the Cotton House, the island’s only hotel, where they lounged poolside. “They spent a good amount of time there,” says a local.

“They had a few security guards watching, but everyone respects each other’s privacy here, and they were able to relax and swim and talk to locals and other guests of the island in peace.” Adds the source: “In Mustique, William and Kate could go into a restaurant or bar and feel completely normal, just like anyone else.”

In classic Princess Kate style, despite having a personal chef at her beck and call, she did the food shopping herself.

“Kate had a wonderful time roaming around the grocery store and the fish market,” says the source. “And there were shops that Kate and her mom could browse in.” In sharp contrast to her life in the U.K., she went virtually unrecognized.

“Kate was able to stop by the little grocery store without anyone bothering her,” says the local insider, adding, “She looked fantastic, healthy and glowing.”
