Acclaimed documentaries “Kiss the Ground” and “Common Ground” from Big Picture Ranch will make their global streaming debut on Amazon Prime Video this Earth Day, April 22, 2025.

The Earth Day launch includes a global live watch party and Q&A session with filmmakers Josh Tickell and Rebecca Tickell, along with executive producers Jason Momoa, Ian Somerhalder, and Demi Moore. In addition to the theatrical version, an exclusive directors cut of “Kiss the Ground” will be made available only on Prime Video.

Released in 2020, “Kiss the Ground” helped bring global attention to regenerative agriculture by framing soil health as a powerful tool to combat climate change. Its message gained traction not only with the public but also among policymakers — notably contributing to the U.S. Department of Agricultures decision to allocate $20 billion toward soil health initiatives.

The sequel, “Common Ground,” builds on that foundation by spotlighting farmers across the U.S. who are using regenerative methods to heal the land and produce food sustainably. The film also explores the often-overlooked role that Indigenous and Black farmers have played in shaping modern regenerative practices.

Narrated by a star-studded cast including Laura Dern, Jason Momoa, Rosario Dawson, Ian Somerhalder, and Donald Glover, “Common Ground” has already earned praise for its storytelling and depth.

“We are thrilled to share these important stories with a global audience,” said Co-Director and Producer Rebecca Tickell. “Our films aim to inspire real change by highlighting the solutions that exist today to address our environmental challenges.”

Big Picture Ranch, based in Ojai, Calif., is not only a documentary film studio but a working organic avocado farm that follows regenerative principles. Through its productions, the studio aims to inspire broad environmental awareness and action.

“These films represent a decades-long quest to rebuild our food system in a way that stabilizes the climate, supports farmers, and creates abundant, healthy food for people everywhere,” said Josh Tickell, who co-directed and produced both films.

The films’ Earth Day release is also tied to Big Picture Ranchs ongoing 100 Million Acres Initiative, which aims to promote regenerative farming on 100 million acres of land through public engagement and policy advocacy. That campaign continues to grow through partnerships, including one with Earthday.org.

“This collaboration highlights the critical solutions we have at our fingertips to address climate change and create a sustainable future,” said Kathleen Rogers, president of Earthday.org.
