Pink has a valid reason for moving to New York City amid recent speculation that she is both separating from husband Carey Hart and could be replacing Kelly Clarkson.

The Grammy winner, 46, currently has a guest stint hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show, but says the real reason behind her move from California to New York comes down to her family.

Speaking on the show on Monday March 2, Pink — who shares kids Willow, 14, and Jameson, 9, with the motocross racer, 50 — said: “We actually moved here because I am an amazing mom,” noting, “And also so Willow could study theatre and experience more Broadway.”

Pink and Willow also performed ‘Hopeless War’ from The Outsiders musical together on the show, highlighting her daughter’s passion for the stage.

The New York move has sparked speculation that Pink might be preparing to replace Clarkson, who recently announced she’ll step down from hosting duties later this month after seven seasons.

Pink has been guest-hosting the NBC daytime series, and Page Six reported she was being considered as a potential successor. According to the outlet, Pink was seen on February 27 at Soho House in the Meatpacking District in New York City looking at contracts for several hours, which they believed could be for the TV show.

However, the “Just Give Me a Reason” singer quickly shut down the rumors. In a since-deleted Instagram video, per Country Rebel, she emphasized that her appearance is temporary and simply a favor for Clarkson.

“I’m not taking over The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she wrote, per the outlet. “If I wanted a talk show, I would not have to audition. I would just have one.”

Clarkson previously shared that her decision to leave is about focusing on her children following the death of their father, Brandon Blackstock, in August.

Meanwhile, Pink also addressed a recent report claiming that she and Hart were going their separate ways after two decades of marriage. In a video posted on Instagram on Thursday, February 26, she said, “So I was just alerted to the fact that I am separated from my husband. I didn’t know,” adding the report was “fake news, not true.”
