Cat got your tongue? Just use telepathy! That’s what one Oregon woman is claiming she did to get a mountain lion out of her living room earlier this month. Lauren Taylor of Ashland, Oregon shared the harrowing experience on her Facebook. Click through the gallery to find out how she got the cat to leave in peace.

“This cat was drinking from our large fountain/pond that's right at the back door before she came in,” she wrote. The cougar slipped in through an open door. The room is full of plants and the stairs incorporate real tree branches, so Lauren thinks the mountain lion didn’t even realize it was indoors at first.

Then the cougar quickly fell asleep.
She shared photos of the cat nap on Facebook. Lauren explained, “When I made noise, she woke up and looked startled so I consciously raised my frequency, gazed lovingly into her eyes, and communicated using feline-speak eye blinking to calm her. … I gazed lovingly then blinked hard and then she did it back! Then, she went back to sleep.”

But that wasn’t the end of this telepathic connection! While the lion slept, Lauren said, “I sent telepathic pictures of the routes out of the house via open doors and the route out the backyard, across the creek, through an open field, and back up into the hills.”

Lauren and her roommates started drumming to peacefully wake the puma. Lauren wrote, “She roused and knew just what to do.... walking out through the open doors, through the yard, across the creek, and through the empty field behind us exactly as we had shown her.”

Still, she says this telepathic communication is not for everyone. She explained, “I have extensive experience working with energy and animals and I'm not suggesting anyone seek out interactions with mountain lions.” She said the most important thing is not to react with anger or fear, since cats can sense that and will respond in kind.
