Matt Damon and wife, Luciana Barroso, appeared on the red carpet for the Jason Bourne premiere on July 11, but were they forcing their smiles?

"Matt's grumpy all the time," a source told OK! magazine. "People are starting to avoid him because of the way he talks to them."

Sources also said that Matt was suffering from the stress of playing Jason Bourne again, after sitting out the series' disappointing fourth installment. "He's put himself under so much pressure to make this a blockbuster that he's driving his wife and his business team crazy."

He was so determined to get in tip-top shape, he trained hard — "but it was the diet that killed him," said the insider. "He banned pasta from the house and was dictating what the rest of the family could eat as well."

And that's not even all of the problems the couple has faced in the last year: BFF Ben Affleck's divorce really drove a wedge between Matt and Luciana. In fact, Ben's divorce helped him to reconnect with Matt lately — previously tensions between their wives had kept the old pals apart, outside of work.

"Ben acts like a frat boy around Matt, which she finds obnoxious. And she knows his history as a ladies' man. She was worried his bad influence will rub off on Matt," a source told Star. "Of course when she complained, Matt refused to hear a bad word about Ben, and it caused some blowout fights."
