Duggar Bombshell! Jessa Admits Why Cheating Brother Josh Shook Her Beliefs On Marriage To Ben Seewald

On a new episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On that aired April 26, Jessa (Duggar) Seewald revealed that her brother’s mistakes challenged her own feelings on marriage.

“For us as a couple, it even strengthened our resolve to be true to our wedding vows and to always keep our first love, which is God and pursue that and then to pursue each other 100 percent. I feel like we as a couple, even drew closer together through the difficulty,” Jessa said during the episode.

“It was very difficult, and we cried a lot of tears, and I feel like it was especially difficult for me just because I had spoken out for Josh and stood up for him,” Jessa said.

“”And then there was another whole wave of things that came through, and some things were exposed about his personal life now, what he currently involved in,” she added.

“There were some things that he was hiding and that he wasn’t being honest about,” she said. “Being pregnant was a breath of fresh air because we had the birth of this child to look forward to,” the 23-year-old said.

Star previously reported that this wasn’t the first time Jessa’s marriage to Ben Seewald has been tested. In a March, the couple revealed that ever since they welcomed their 4-month-old son, Spurgeon, their one-on-one time together had been put through the wringer. “Jessa and I would try to have pretty regular date nights before the baby was born,” Ben said. “Now that the baby’s born, we’re going to have to make more of a conscious effort to say, ‘Hey, lets go out on a date together.’”
