Ever since Friday Night Lights went off the air in 2011, fans have been hankering for a movie sequel. Andy Cohen asked star Connie Britton about the rumors on Watch What Happens Live and her answer was definitive. Click through the gallery for all the info on the FNL movie.

Connie, 51, was surprised Andy even asked about it. “Is that still being talked about?” she said. “Guys, I just don’t think it’s going to happen. I don’t.”

“I think that the consensus is they want to just let it lie,” she explained. “I’ve kind of come full circle because I was all for it in the beginning. I think if we had done it early on. But now I really do see how special it is to be able to end a series in that way. It was just so beautifully done and beautifully arched. I think we kind of did it.”

At the end of the series, Connie’s character Tami moves to Pennsylvania with her husband Eric, played by Kyle Chandler. Fans loved the authentic, moving portrayal of a marriage where both spouses’ careers and happiness are a priority.

The actress was also quick to remind fans that there is already a FNL film. “It was already a movie. The movie came before the show!” she said.

“The movie was actually a recreation of the book,” she explained about the film, which told the true story of a team in the 1980s. “In the show, it was a different time period. It was modern day. We were fictional. It was an adaptation.”

Of course, the cast of the show is a little too busy for a movie. Connie is currently starring in
Dirty John on Bravo, an adaption of the hit podcast.
Michael B. Jordan is a bonafide movie star, while Kyle has been a fixture on the big and small screens.
Jesse Plemons was nominated for an Emmy for his role on
Black Mirror.
