Divorces can be messy and emotional. That was particularly clear from Dakota Meyer’s Instagram Story on Monday, August 6. Bristol Palin’s ex-husband used the app to answer questions from her fans. The Medal of Honor winner shared an intense look at his divorce and life after, including giving his fans some salty advice. One fan asked why Dakota, 30, and
Bristol, 27, divorced. He put the blame on her. “She wasn’t happy with me so it’s for the best,” he said.

He also confirmed that they’re not separated but “happily divorced.”

In another post, he said he’s “probably the happiest man on the face of the planet!!!” Guess he's not torn up over the end of his marriage.

When someone asked what advice he has for someone going through a divorce, that’s when his saltiness really showed through. He wrote, “You can try everything and give the person all you have and if they don’t see good in you it’s out of your control.” He added as an aside, “Know when enough is enough.” That has to sting.

Another follower asked if he’ll ever remarry. His answer was simple: “Hell no.” He also explained that he and Bristol share custody, sending the kids back and forth every week.

That custody agreement will likely feature on the new season of
Teen Mom OG. Bristol, a former teenage mother, is
joining the cast for the new season. Her mom, former vice presidential nominee
Sarah Palin, said
she’s “proud” of her for doing the show and thinks it will be a “forum for good.” Bristol is also mom to son
