“As many of you guys know, I grew up on a TV show called Modern Family, and I was on that show for eight years of my life… since I was four years old until the age of 12,” Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, now 17, told fans in a recent TikTok.

The child star played Lily Tucker-Pritchett on the hit ABC sitcom, the adopted daughter of Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson).

As she acknowledged she was “not forced” into appearing on the show, Aubrey admitted that she was oblivious to what it entailed, “You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into at four years old when you sign a contract.”

That included some trolling, she added: “People really took digs at my acting choices or would say I’m a bad actor… It was really hard on my to grow up with so many people’s opinions around me.”

Despite the negatives, after taking time off, the teen has decided to return to acting. “So, I have been auditioning for the last two years seriously,” she shared. “For anyone who’s been wondering, ‘Are you going to be on TV again?’ Yes, absolutely, I would love to!”
