Among those enjoying the series: Phoebe Buffay herself, Lisa Kudrow. The 62-year-old, now appearing in HBO‘s The Comeback, told the paper she started rewatching after the 2023 death of castmateMatthew Perry — and it was a revelation. “Before, I only saw what I did wrong or could have done better,” she said. “But for the first time, I truly appreciated just how great it was. I felt I did OK, but Jennifer [Aniston] and Courteney [Cox]? Amazing. David [Schwimmer] and Matt [LeBlanc]? They had me laughing so hard. And then Matthew — he was just beyond us all.”
It can be painful, however, to revisit the past, she added. “Whatever any of us do in the future, we will never experience something like that again.”
