Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Butt Heads Over the Best Time to Eat Thanksgiving Dinner

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos don’t always see eye to eye, and their latest disagreement came down to one surprisingly divisive topic: the ideal time to sit down for Thanksgiving dinner.

While discussing the subject during the Wednesday, November 26, episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, Ripa, 55, was firm that “6 p.m.” was the best time.

“And if you don’t like that, you are welcome to make yourself a sandwich before because we are having dinner at 6 p.m,” she told her husband of 28 years.

However, Consuelos disagreed.

“Here’s my thought process, alright?” he began. “You have a little bit of breakfast to kind of keep you going. Three o’clock, you eat, and then you don’t have to cook ever again because everybody can get the leftovers later on at night.

He later polled the audience who clapped loudly when he asked if families should enjoy their Thanksgiving meal “earlier than six o’clock.”

“That’s called lunch,” she clapped back. “And if you don’t like it, then you host Thanksgiving for a change. How about that?”

Ripa was also quick to point out that their attempts to eat earlier in the day hadn’t been successful in the past.

“When we’ve had earlier Thanksgiving, I wind up cooking Thanksgiving dinner, and then I have to cook Thanksgiving dinner at like 8:30,” she explained before Consuelos argued that likely wouldn’t happen now because their “kids are much older.”

“But nobody, none of you, you included, want leftovers!” she concluded.
