Kelly Clarkson will be on TV screens in a different capacity soon, as she is hosting an NBC special titled Songs & Stories.
On Wednesday, July 30, the network made a joint Instagram post with the singer-songwriter, reminding people that the first episode will be out next month.
“Kelly Clarkson: Songs & Stories, a four-part primetime event, premieres August 19 10/9c #NBCSongsAndStories | NBC and Peacock,” the post was captioned.
In Songs & Stories, the three-time Grammy Award winner, 43, will have “unfiltered” conversations with a different musician each week, including Gloria Estefan, Lizzo, Teddy Swims and the Jonas Brothers, per the NBC website. Viewers will also get to watch musical performances in an “intimate, unplugged setting.”

The “Stronger” hitmaker’s new hosting gig comes one week after a source told Star that Clarkson’s friends are worried “she’s taking on too much” following the news she would be a judge on The Voice: Battle of Champions.
“It’s astonishing to friends that she’s taken this offer,” a source revealed. “Of course, The Voice is a favorite of hers and it’ll be fun, but people would have preferred for her to pass on it, take a break, be with family and stop worrying about money and putting herself in the spotlight.”
The source added that the American Idol champion — who shares kids River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock — is “completely burning out and running on fumes.”

“Why else would she be canceling gigs?” the source noted, referring to how Clarkson canceled her first two shows of her Las Vegas residency earlier this month. “There comes a point when a person has to say no, and it’s arrived, but try telling that to Kelly.”
The “Catch My Breath” singer took to her Instagram on July 4 — hours before she was supposed to take the stage at Caesars Palace — to tell fans her voice was strained and she could not perform.
“The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice,” she wrote in a post. “I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”
“Dolly’s calling and checking in with Kelly and offering support,” shared a source. “She wants to get together and have a talk, just the two of them, without any interruptions.”
