Fans haven’t seen much of Julia Roberts lately, but a source says Danny Moder is getting plenty of face time with the Oscar winner.
“Julia is in another one of her long work hiatuses and spending all of her time at home with Danny,” the source explains to Star. “It puts Danny in the hot seat, because when Julia’s home, she likes to have Danny around. If she isn’t acting he can’t just bail and go work on a film himself.”
According to the source, the Pretty Woman icon, 58, has been extra clingy now that the three kids she and the cinematographer, 57, share — twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 21, and son Henry, 19 — are out of the house.
Roberts — who celebrated 24 years of marriage to Moder on Instagram this July — last appeared on screen in After the Hunt, which the source notes was “hated” by “audiences and critics” alike.
Before the panned flick’s October 2025 premiere, Just Jared posted images of the actress filming Panic Carefully in London in February 2025. But the movie isn’t due to hit theaters until April 2027.
While Deadline reported in May 2026 that Roberts had since signed on to star in Home Economics, it’s a film adaptation of a novel that doesn’t even hit bookshelves itself until 2027.
“She refuses to go out and do a movie just for an easy paycheck,” notes Star‘s source. “The best way to lure Julia off her New Mexico ranch and back to Hollywood would be an offer for a movie that she and Danny can work on, which they have done a few times in the past. Until then, she’s happy to keep Danny prisoner in their home!”
