John Mellencamp has given a heartbreaking health update on his daughter Teddi Mellencamp.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 44 — who was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 — is “suffering right now,” the 74-year-old musician told Joe Rogan on the Wednesday, January 14, episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
As the “Jack & Diane” singer briefly discussed fatherhood with Rogan, 58, on his podcast, John said, “I do have a daughter that’s really sick. It’s not f**king fun.”
“She’s got cancer in the brain,” John continued, referring to Teddi, who revealed last year that doctors found “multiple tumors in my brain” as well as two “tumors in my lungs” that “are all metastases of my melanoma.”

The former Housewife — who shares three children with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave — was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022. While it progressed to stage 4 and she revealed it spread to other parts of her body, she said on an October 2025 episode of the Two T’s in a Pod podcast that there was “no detectable cancer” found in recent scans.
However, she cautioned listeners that she wasn’t out of the woods just yet nor in remission.
On New Year’s Eve, Teddi shared an update to Instagram, writing, “2025 was not my year. Near-death has that effect on you.”
“But as I close it out, I’m trying my best to be grateful for every moment that I’ve been blessed to have been given since,” she continued in the caption of the post, which included photos and videos of her cancer journey and showing off her shaved head.

“I’m not sure what 2026 will hold, but I know that I will never stop sharing with you the good, the bad, and the ugly,” she said. “Being open and vulnerable helps me cope; and hopefully helps even one of you know you’re not alone in what life has you facing.”
“And of course, this is also a reminder to get those skin checks,” she concluded. “Have you made your 2026 appointment yet?”
