Jennifer Lopez Ready to ‘Let Loose’ for Her Birthday Six Months After Ben Affleck Divorce (Exclusive)

Jennifer Lopez is turning 56 on July 24, and according to a source, she’s planning to spoil herself for her first birthday since her divorce from Ben Affleck was finalized – celebrations could even last well into the summer!

“She’ll be in Europe on her tour but has arranged to have a few days off for her birthday so she can properly celebrate,” a source exclusively tells Star, referring to her current Up All Night: Live Tour. “She’s going to fly out some of her close friends so that she’s not alone and they’ll all get the A-list treatment right alongside her.”

“Right now, it’s a toss up between renting out a huge yacht and cruising the Med for a couple of days,” continues the source, “or just renting out a five-star villa where they can lounge and get spa treatments and have a big party and totally let loose.”

Last year, J.Lo, 55, went all out and “threw a huge party” for her big day, but the source says it was “very painful” for her due to her then-recent separation from Affleck, 52.

After rekindling their early 2000’s romance, Bennifer 2.0 tied the knot in a private Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, followed by a second wedding in Georgia surrounded by family and friends that August. However, by April 2024, the pair had called it quits and their divorce was finalized in January 2025.

Their separation left her going “through the motions” and “crying for a lot” of her 55th birthday celebration, according to the source.

“This year, she’s in a way better place and is actually in the mood to party,” the source adds. “She’s finally ready to put herself first again and she plans to go big, blow off steam and celebrate like the true superstar she is.”

This comes one month after an insider spilled to Star that Lopez has been eager to “have fun” on the European leg of her tour.

“She’s looking into chartering a fully crewed yacht and being surrounded by hot guys and her trusted entourage,”  the insider dished in June. “She always thought Leo DiCaprio had it made, and she plans on being the female equivalent.”

But just because she’s single and may be mingling with attractive bachelors doesn’t mean she’s ready to move on with a new relationship just yet. Following the 2025 American Music Awards, the Hustlers star joked that actress Tiffany Haddish wanted to go “manhunting” with her.

“She said that to me!” Lopez told Access Hollywood at the time. “I said, ‘Girl, I’m not looking for no man. I’m happy right now. I’m not trying to ruin it, okay?’”
