Jennifer Aniston‘s past with ex-husband Brad Pitt is weighing on boyfriend Jim Curtis, according to Rob Shuter.
In the Wednesday, February 18 edition of Shuter’s Naughty But Nice substack, a source explained that the Fight Club actor, 62 — who was married to Aniston, 57, from 2000 to 2005 — “isn’t just an ex-husband,” rather, “he’s a cultural icon” and known as “one of the sexiest men to ever live.”
“That body alone became part of pop history,” the source added, noting that Curtis is “intimidated” by this.
“The Brad-and-Jen narrative never really died,” a second source told Shuter. “It’s not that Jim thinks he’s competing — it’s that he’s stepping into something the public still romanticizes.”
A third insider shared that while the hypnotist is “confident,” he’s also “human.”
“When your girlfriend’s former marriage is still treated like unfinished business by fans, that’s a lot to carry,” the insider continued.
Additionally, as Star reported earlier this month, the Friends alum started hypnosis, which “has really helped her go back and unpack feelings she thought she had already dealt with, especially when it comes to Brad.”
The source claimed that Curtis, who is also a transformational coach, “has been such a great guide for her in all of this,” and that Aniston “credits him with teaching her how to do this and says she’s forever grateful.”
