Jason Kelce Looks Nearly Unrecognizable in Throwback College Photos: ‘Hate the Way My Face Looks’

Before the beard, the podcast and the NFL fame, Jason Kelce looked like a completely different guy.

Jason, 38, shared throwback photos from his college football days at the University of Cincinnati during the Wednesday, September 2, episode of his New Heights podcast, which he hosts with younger brother Travis Kelce. In the old pictures, the retired Philadelphia Eagles player was clean-shaven and almost unrecognizable compared to his appearance today.

“I just hate the way my face looks without a beard,” Jason admitted on the podcast.

The former NFL center appeared equally surprised by a photo of himself speaking to teammates during a huddle.

“Is that what I look like when I’m yelling? Is that how it always looks?” Jason asked Travis, 36, during the episode.

He then revealed that his lack of facial hair wasn’t the only thing different about his grooming routine during his college years.

“That was back when I used to just take my razor, and that’s how I trim my eyebrows,” he said on the podcast. “I would just go straight across my eyebrows. So they ended up being super thin and not having any shape.”

Travis told his brother he “would’ve never guessed,” before adding, “But they are definitely way thinner than what they are now.”

Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, has previously admitted that seeing her husband clean-shaven now might come as a shock.

“I’ve never met his chin, I’ve never seen his chin in person,” she said on an August episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast. “We’ve never met. Rumor has it that there’s a little bit of the butt chin under there. I don’t know though; I’ve never met it. That’d be kind of fun to find out.”

Jason and Kylie, 34, married in 2018 and share four daughters, Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 1. Kylie joked that their children might have trouble recognizing their dad without his beard.

“I think that at least one of them would cry. I’m banking on three of them, but at least one, for sure,” she said on her podcast.

Jason has also been supportive of Travis’ relationship with Taylor Swift, who married the Kansas City Chiefs tight end at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 3. Speaking about the couple on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast, Jason said, “They are unbelievably supportive of each other and both of their outlandishly successful worlds.”
