Grimes has canceled an upcoming performance for personal reasons.

On Monday, May 26, Grimes, (real name Claire Elise Boucher) announced via X that she would no longer be able to perform at the World Pride Music Festival, explaining, “Hello friends, I am so so sorry and regretful to say I have to cancel my pride show in order to deal with family issues.”

“Hello friends, I am so so sorry and regretful to say I have to cancel my pride show in order to deal with family issues,” she wrote on the platform.

The “Genesis” singer, 37, continued, “I want to say that I am aware the situation has been a great inconvenience to the fans for some time, and I am truly determined to make sure this is no longer the case very soon.”

She noted that the festival, which takes place over the first weekend in June in Washington, D.C, is “still going to be amazing” and called the lineup “great.” The event’s headliners include Jennifer Lopez and Troye Sivan.

The festival posted an Instagram Story sharing some words of support for the Canadian musician.

“We’re sending love and support to Grimes during this time as she steps away to focus on personal matters,” they wrote. “We fully support her decision and are thinking of her and her family.”

Grimes, who shares X Æ A-Xii, 5, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2, with ex-partner Elon Musk — did not provide specifics on the nature of the family problems.

Back in February, Grimes made a public plea with the 53-year-old billionaire, asking him to “Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis” in a since-deleted X post.

She said that the situation required “immediate attention,” writing, “If you don’t want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can so that we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon.”

Grimes also replied to a user on the platform who questioned her decision to discuss a family matter publicly.

“I’m not giving any details but he won’t respond to texts call or emails and has skipped every meeting and our child will suffer life long impairment if he doesn’t respond asap,” she explained. “So I need him to f**king respond and if I have to apply public pressure then I guess that’s where we are at.”

Earlier that month, Grimes expressed disappointment that her eldest son was part of a highly publicized press conference in the Oval Office with the Tesla founder and President Donald Trump.

“He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh,” she wrote via X.
