Grammy-winning musician and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier has joined the latest episode of “Celebrity Substitute,” exploring the question “What is music?” with young students.

In the digital-first series, celebrities take on the role of substitute teachers in New York City elementary schools. Collier visited PS 182 for a music lesson, delving into aspects like rhythm, harmony, improvisation, and songwriting.

During the episode, Collier engaged students in a dynamic exploration of how music connects people and even challenged them to create their own musical compositions. This initiative is part of a broader effort by Celebrity Substitute to bring unique educational experiences to classrooms, with each episode featuring a different celebrity guest.

The series is hosted by Julian Shapiro-Barnum of “Recess Therapy” fame and aims to integrate the Amazon brand’s philosophy of facilitating everyday wins for customers. Each episode takes place in a New York City public school, where Shapiro-Barnum and the guest celebrity attempt to teach a class and fulfill the school’s Amazon Wish List.

As Celebrity Substitute continues to bring stars into the classroom, viewers can look forward to more episodes that blend education with entertainment, offering students a chance to learn from some of the most creative minds in the industry.
