Since her husband Bruce Willis’ 2022 aphasia diagnosis, which doctors said evolved into frontotemporal dementia in 2023, Emma Heming has learned a lot about caretaking.

Now the 46-year-old is sharing her knowledge in a new book, The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope and Yourself on the Caregiving Path. The 272-page guide, out in September, details how the Making Time podcaster has coped with the 70-year- old’s degenerative illness.

“Born from grief, shaped by love and guided by purpose, this is the book I needed back when Bruce was first diagnosed and I was frozen with fear and uncertainty,” the mom to Mabel, 13, and 10-year-old Evelyn revealed as she announced her new project.

“This is the book I trust will help the next caregiver.” Emma, who wed the Die Hard star in 2009, has been open about their struggles. “It’s painful,” an insider tells Star. “Bruce has his good days and bad days — he’s in a fragile place. Emma’s taking it one day at a time.”
