Hugh Grant

Liz dated Four Weddings and a Funeral star Hugh Grant, 64, for 13 years after meeting him on the set of Remando al Viento (Rowing With the Wind) in 1987. She stuck with him after his infamous 1995 arrest for lewd conduct with a sex worker and, following their 2000 breakup, they remained “best friends,” both have said. The actor is even one of her son Damian’s godfathers.

Steven Bing

During what she later described as a “very happy” 18-month romance with the film producer Steven Bing in the early 2000s, Liz conceived son Damian, who was born in 2002, after their breakup. Though Steve initially denied paternity, a DNA test proved otherwise. He died by suicide at 55 in 2020, a “terrible end” that left Liz “saddened beyond belief,” she said.

Steve Nash

Though it was brief, Liz’s early-2000s relationship with the 18-season NBA player Steve Nash turned Brooklyn Nets coach, 51, was “authentic,” Steve’s agent said at the time. “They just vibed,” the former MVP’s agent told Sports Illustrated in 2001. “They ended up hanging out, and there was some chemistry.”

Shane Warne

In 2010, Liz quietly moved on with the Australian cricketer Shane Warne, who was in the midst of a breakup with his wife of 15 years. They got engaged in 2011 but called it quits in 2013. Before Shane died of a suspected heart attack at 52 in 2022, he gushed about his ex, declaring in 2018, “My years with Elizabeth were the happiest of my life.”

Arun Nayar

Soon after welcoming her son, Liz fell for the textile heir Arun Nayar, 60, who she married in two ceremonies — one in England and a second in his native India — in 2007. Three years later, it was over. “My husband and I had the most amicable divorce in the world,” Liz said in 2020. “My lawyer said it was the cheapest case she’d ever handled because neither of us wanted anything.”
