Ed Sheeran Says No to “Richie Rich” Life — Thanks to Wife Cherry Keeping the Family Grounded
Worth at least $200 million, Ed Sheeran knows how to live well. The 34-year-old even has a pub on his $4.7 million Suffolk, England, estate. But the “Shape of You” singer and his wife of six years, Cherry Seaborn, are determined to keep life simple for their two daughters, Lyra, 4, and 2-year-old Jupiter. “Cherry is the biggest grounding force,” the four-time Grammy winner said on a recent ep of the Call Her Daddy podcast. (The pair were schoolmates as kids!) “Anytime there’s something a little bit too Hollywood, she’ll be like, ‘Bro, c’mon.’”
Case in point: When Ed wanted to build a bowling alley on the property, dubbed “Sheeran-ville,” the 32-year-old put her foot down. “She knew we didn’t need that,” he admitted. “She doesn’t want our kids growing up in the Richie Rich house, where there’s literally a McDonald’s in the back garden.” It’s not like the girls are missing out on too much, though — they still have a lake, a treehouse and even a chapel.
