‘DWTS’ Fan Fave Robert Irwin Avoids Questions About Xochitl Gomez Romance, But Admits ‘She’s the Best’

Robert Irwin is staying tight-lipped about his dating life.

TMZ cameras caught the 21-year-old wildlife conservationist heading into a Dancing with the Stars training session in Los Angeles, where he was asked about actress Xochitl Gomez, his guest partner for the show’s 20th anniversary episode.

When asked if he and Gomez are an “item,” Irwin coyly replied, “Oh my gosh, we had the best time. That dance was so much fun and it was so cool to do two such distinct dances. One that was, like, really slow and heartfelt and then the dance with Xochitl was just, like, energy and fun.”

Gomez was one of several Mirrorball Trophy winners who returned to the show to dance with current contestants in honor of the anniversary. She and Irwin performed a jive and were praised for their obvious chemistry. The pair also won their relay round.

While Irwin didn’t directly answer the question about dating Gomez, he did compliment the Marvel star.

“She’s the best. It’s been really, really great,” he said, before quickly changing the subject: “Now, two dances to learn this week so it’s going to be a big one.”

Irwin then walked away from the cameras and into dance practice.

The Tuesday, November 11 episode was a milestone for Irwin, as he and his professional partner, Witney Carson, earned their first perfect score of the season, receiving four 10s from the judges.

This isn’t the first time Irwin’s love life has sparked speculation. Just last week, rumors swirled that Irwin is dating DWTS troupe member Hailey Bills.

A source told Star Irwin has been spending “a ton of time” with the 19-year-old. A TikTok video posted on Monday, October 27 showing the Australia Zoo worker hanging out with Bills and her fellow troupe dancers outside of the ballroom only fueled the rumors of a possible romance.
