Dave Coulier’s Shock Diagnosis

Dave Coulier just thought he had a bad cold; but when the swelling in his groin persisted, the 65-year-old had a doctor check it out. The diagnosis was unthinkable.

“They said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have B-cell lymphoma, we need to get you into chemotherapy right away,’” the Full House alum told Today’s Hoda Kotb. Surgery and treatment began so quickly that his wife, Melissa, couldn’t believe what was happening.

“It’s been a roller coaster, for sure,” he said. The comic announced that he will continue with chemo through February, but that the treatment is 90 percent successful for people with stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma like his. While Dave said he’s keeping busy with life, an insider tells Star he’s determined to do some good.

“He wants to help others,” says the insider. “He says not to ignore symptoms, get them checked out.”
