Carrie Underwood Reportedly Feeling the Pressure as Kelsea Ballerini Scores Big on The Voice
The competition isn’t just happening on stage at singing shows American Idol and The Voice. An insider tells Star that tension is heating up between Carrie Underwood, the ABC show’s season 4 winner who’s returned as a judge this season, and fellow country star Kelsea Ballerini, a coach on NBC’s The Voice.
“Carrie can’t help but feel jealous seeing Kelsea take a bow and get all these great reviews, and it stings that The Voice is crushing American Idol in the ratings too,” says the insider (The Voice has been pulling in about a million more viewers each week).
The rivalry, however, may be one-sided. The insider says the “Miss Me More” singer, 31, has nothing but love for Carrie, 42.
“She doesn’t get it,” notes the source. “It’s sad to her that someone of Carrie’s star power can’t be happy for her success.”
