Hoping for a Christmas miracle! Over the past year, Brad Pitt’s already damaged relationship with his brood of six has further eroded, with Shiloh, 18, Zahara, 19, and 20-year-old Pax all dropping his name, following Maddox, 23, in distancing their father. (At 16, twins Knox and Vivienne are still minors and part of Brad and Angelina Jolie’s bitter custody battle.)

Now an insider tells Star that despite all that, the 60-year-old is still holding out hope that he’ll see the kids over the holidays. “He’s stockpiling gifts for all of his children,” spills the insider. “He’s really taking time to get the perfect gift for each one. In a perfect world, they’d all come over for a big dinner and open presents.” According to the insider, the Oscar winner is especially keen on repairing his bond with Shiloh. “He’s been in sporadic contact with her and apparently, she’s given him some reason to be hopeful,” continues the insider.

“No matter what she does, he’s always going to love her.” (Brad has accused Angelina of turning the kids against him.) Either way, the holidays will be tough. “Brad always gets wistful,” notes the insider. “He has high hopes and then they’re dashed.”
