Blake Lively has added a new attorney to her legal team as her trial with Justin Baldoni looms.

On Friday, January 16, People revealed that the Gossip Girl alum, 38, hired lawyer Sigrid McCawley, noting her “primary role will be handling communications with the public and the media on key matters related to the case.”

McCawley shared a statement with the publication which read: “It is a privilege to get to work with Blake Lively’s world class legal team on a case that at its core is about a woman who was subjected to a hostile work environment and is being attacked for standing up to protect herself and other female co-workers.”

Additionally, the A Simple Favor actress’s existing attorneys, Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, will stay on the case.

“We are thrilled that Sigrid has joined Blake’s legal team in this important role handling our public-facing communications,” Gottleib and Hudson told the outlet. “We recruited Sigrid based on her many years of work speaking truth to power, including her courageous representation of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, and have no doubt her experience will serve the team well.”

McCawley represented a few of Epstein’s victims — including the late Virginia Giuffre — in their legal fight against the late sex offender, which resulted in both settlements and criminal prosecutions, according to People.

As Star previously reported, the legal fight between Lively and Baldoni, 41, began in December 2024 after The Age of Adeline actress filed a lawsuit alleging that the Jane the Virgin star sexually harassed her on the set of their film It Ends With Us.

Then, in January 2024, Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, filed a $400 million defamation and extortion countersuit against Lively, but it was dismissed by the judge in June.

While the trial is scheduled for May, the next court date for the two A-listers is January 22, when Baldoni will share his reasoning to “have some or all of Lively’s claims dismissed before the case reaches a jury,” per People.
