According to court documents obtained by People, U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Liman signed a new order on Friday, October 31, officially dismissing Baldoni’s $400 million defamation countersuit against Lively, 38, as his legal team had not filed an amended complaint before the deadline.
The judge stated that he contacted both parties on October 17 to declare his intention to enter a final judgment, and the Jane the Virgin alum, 41, did not respond, according to People.
However, the Gossip Girl alum did answer, requesting the judge declare the final judgment, and “for her request for legal fees to remain active,” which Judge Liman concurred with, per People.

As Star previously reported, Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, filed their $400 million defamation and extortion countersuit against the A Simple Favor actress, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloane in January. Judge Liman dismissed the lawsuit in June along with Baldoni’s $250 million claim against the New York Times.
The legal battle between two actors began in December 2024 after Lively filed a lawsuit alleging that Baldoni sexually harassed her on the set of their film It Ends With Us.
The two A-listers are set to face off in court in March 2026 for Lively’s initial lawsuit against Baldoni and Wayfarer studios.
