Dancing with the Stars contestant Robert Irwin is continuing to impress the judges on the ABC dance competition series, but one familiar face was missing from his cheering squad this week.
Bindi Irwin, Robert’s older sister, explained on Instagram Tuesday, October 21, why she had to skip the highly anticipated Wicked-themed episode.
“We absolutely adore being in the audience to celebrate Uncle Robert on @dancingwiththestars,” Bindi, 27, who shares daughter Grace with husband Chandler Powell, wrote. “This week, Grace has a little cold so we’re going to cheer from our living room.”
The post featured a throwback photo of Bindi and her 4-year-old daughter embracing while sitting in the ballroom audience.
“Sending healing hugs!” Bindi and Robert’s mom, Terri Irwin, commented.

On the dance floor, Robert and his professional partner Witney Carson performed a jazz routine to the Wicked song “Dancing Through Life.” While he didn’t earn a perfect score, he received four nines from the judges – his highest scores of the season.
Bindi recently shared how the family temporarily relocated to Los Angeles to support Robert on the show.
“It is just awesome. We decided as a family to move here for the three months that he was on the show, and it was a tricky decision. We live at Australia Zoo and our whole world revolves around our conservation work but more than anything else, it’s about being together as a family and supporting each other,” she told Joey Graziadei on the October 16 episode of the Dancing with the Stars Official Podcast.
“And I know from my season, my family was there every step of the way for me, and I wanted to be able to do the same for Robert.”
Bindi appeared on Season 21 of the series alongside pro Derek Hough and took home the Mirrorball Trophy.
