Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell’s Widower Eldridge Toney Engaged Two Years After Her Death
Eldridge Toney, the widower of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, is engaged.
Toney proposed to girlfriend Jessie English over the holiday weekend after meeting on Tinder back in March, according to Us Weekly.
“I wasn’t going to make a profile, but something was telling me to,” he told the outlet. “I finally worked up the courage to propose on Christmas Day.”
He added, “Our future together is bright from what we have talked about and how things are going now. I know a lot of people may say I’m moving on fast but at the end of the day, Anna wouldn’t want me sitting around in misery.”
Cardwell was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma, which had spread to her kidney, liver and lung, in early 2023. After a short battle, she died that December, leaving behind her husband and two daughters: Kaitlyn and Kylee.
Before her death, Cardwell and Toney tied the knot in a small ceremony in March 2023.
“She has met Anna’s family and they like her a lot. We go over for holidays and times in between to see Kaitlyn,” Toney explained of his fiancée. “Kaitlyn loves her, and that is something that sits great with me.”
According to Toney, English “respects [his] past and the things [he has] dealt with 100 percent.”
“She knows I have good days and bad days when it comes to missing Anna and she is extremely supportive,” he continued.
