June “Mama June” Shannon took to Instagram on Tuesday to honor her late daughter, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell on the second anniversary of her death.
In addition to giving a brief update on how she’s coping, Shannon asked fans for a favor regarding Cardwell’s social media pages.
Cardwell died at the age of 29 years old on December 9, 2023 following a 10-month battle with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma.
In a lengthy video and caption, Shannon spoke directly to the camera about how things have been for her and her family since Cardwell’s passing in 2023. Specifically, she wanted to explain that, although she’s not constantly talking about her late child, she’s grieving privately.
“Just ‘cause I’m not on here boo-hooing doesn’t mean I don’t have bad days,” Shannon, 46, said. “Don’t mean I’m not a f**king emotional wreck half the damn time.”

Shannon then asked fans to honor Cardwell on the second anniversary of her death.
“I’m here because I want you to show love to Anna’s social media pages,” she explained. “I want to be able to keep her pages alive. I really wanna memorialize her pages, but I don’t know how to do that.”
In addition to keeping the accounts alive with comments, the Mama June: Family Crisis star also asked her followers to share their favorite stories about Cardwell, arguing it’s the best way to honor her on the second anniversary of her death.
“Anna loved the f**king spotlight,” she explained.
Shannon shared a few stories of her own, including a time when Cardwell made fun of her for not getting her feet done before filming, how she always loved watching cooking shows and details of their final family trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
“We had so much fun there and we made so many memories,” Shannon recalled, noting Cardwell died four days after the trip.
