Angelina Jolie Looks to Leave Hollywood After Oscars Snub and Family Tensions

And the Oscar goes to… not Angelina Jolie! An insider tells Star that failing to get a nomination for playing opera diva Maria Callas in Maria has left the 49-year-old more determined than ever to leave Hollywood. “She put her heart and soul into this awards season,” the source tells Star. “And the snub has left Angelina with an incredibly bad taste in her mouth.”

For years, the mom of six has said she prefers to live abroad, blaming ex Brad Pitt and their protracted divorce and custody battle for forcing her to live stateside. “Even though the kids aren’t on good terms with Brad these days,” adds the insider, “he still has visitation rights with the twins.” (At 16, their youngest kids are the only minors remaining in the brood.)

“It’s Angie’s firm belief the family would be happiest abroad.” Another factor fueling the Oscar winner’s need to leave: Her estranged father, Jon Voight, has just been named a Hollywood watchdog by the new administration. Says the insider, “That just rubs salt in the wound!”
