The site reports that the two superstar judges haven’t been getting along behind the scenes of the show, and it’s been making the Maroon 5 frontman a nightmare to work with. “Not only is Pharrell taking the contestants that Adam would have generally locked in with ease, but he is also a favorite among the production staff,” a show insider tells Radar. “Pharrell takes this role very seriously and is new and fresh.”
Indeed, while Adam has been on the show since Season 1 (we’re now on 8), the “Happy” singer didn’t join until last year. “Adam is just jaded after doing it for so many seasons,” the source continues. “Production staff are saying that, not only does Adam act like an a—-le, but he’s totally jealous of Pharrell. This season has brought out his true colors.”
Still, the “Payphone” singer has a pretty good track record on the show — he won Seasons 1 and 5 with Javier Colon and Tessanne Chin, respectively. He also coached three of last year’s four finalists, but ultimately lost to four-time winner, Blake Shelton.
