In January 2012, Ellen Kardashian –ex-wife of Robert Kardashian, Kris Jenner’s late former husband — claimed exclusively to Star that Bruce Jenner’s first wife, Chrystie Scott, had revealed to her years before over cocktails that the former Olympic decathlon champion was a secret cross-dresser.
According to Ellen, Chrystie told her she had returned home after a trip to find that “[Bruce] had gone through all my clothes. And I found my bras…He’d clip them together and wear them.”
Chrystie never publicly addressed Ellen’s claim. But now, in the wake of Star’s continuing coverage of Bruce’s apparent physical transformation into a woman — and shocking recent photos of him with larger breasts, wearing lip gloss and mascara — she’s finally spoken out.
“I support him in whatever he chooses to do,” Chrystie, the mother of Bruce’s two oldest children, Burt, and Cassandra, tells Star exclusively. “We see each other on and off at family events and he is a very proud and present grandfather. We all support him.”
Bruce and Chrystie were married in 1972, four years before he became an international icon with his gold-medal-winning performance at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Though their marriage ended in 1980, a family insider tells Star, “If anyone really knows Bruce’s vulnerable side, it’s Chrystie. She was his first love, and they went through so much together. She’s seem him through all the different phases of his life, so to have her love and support now, when he finally seems at peace with himself during his amazing personal journey, means the world to him.”
“I just want him to be happy,” Chrystie concludes.
