14 seasons later, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy is finally a Dancing With the Stars champion! After a two-season hiatus, the pro dancer returned to the hit ABC show for Season 18, where he took home the Mirror Ball trophy for the first time with partner, Meryl Davis. But now that he’s won…will the strong personality return for Season 19?

“I don’t know,” showrunner Rob Wade told E! News at ABC’s party for the 2014 Summer TCA Press Tour. “I’m absolutely hoping Maks comes back to the show. I don’t know whether it’s going to be as a dancer. I think there’s a number of different things we can talk to him about and the way he’d be involved with the show. Maks will always be part of Dancing With the Stars in some way.”

Indeed, in his off-seasons, the 34-year-old returned as a guest judge and dancer.

Meanwhile, Season 18 cohost, Erin Andrews, recently accepted a huge gig as Fox’s NFL sideline reporter for their No. 1 news team…will she have time for both jobs?! “We have Erin and Tom [Bergeron] coming back and we’re looking forward to it,” Rob explained. “We kind of knew before. We knew she had this other job and we made sure that would work out in the fall. So yeah, that’s what worked out. It’s great and we’re very supportive of her.”

With Season 19 premiering on Sept. 15, we’ll likely be getting some more information about the new cast in the coming weeks.
