Face palm! An 18-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for stealing wreckage from the car accident that killed Paul Walker on Saturday, Nov. 30. Police are still waiting for a second suspect, who is currently out of state, to surrender.
According to the Los Angeles County police report, the wrecked Porsche was driven to an impound yard around 10:00 p.m. the night of the accident for further investigation. Several cars followed, and when the truck was stopped at a red light, a male was seen grabbing a piece of the debris and driving off. Police obtained a search warrant and found the part in Jameson Witty’s home.
They didn’t even have to look that far, though, because he posted a photo of the stolen piece in his Instagram page Sunday. “Piece of Paul walkers car, took it off a tow truck at a stop light @anthonyjanow #paulwalker #rip #comeup,” he captioned it.
Jameson was arrested on suspicion of felony grand theft and tampering with evidence. His bail was set at $20,000.
