Hugh Jackman is turning his own health scare into an opportunity to spread awareness! On Thursday, the actor revealed that he had skin cancer removed from his nose.
It was his wife, Deborra Lee-Furness, who encouraged him to get the questionable spot checked out, and now, the 45-year-old is urging fans to do the same. “Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right!” he captioned a photo of his bandaged nose. “I had a basil cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!”
Basal cell carcinoma is the most frequently occurring form of all cancers, and can generally be treated with removal.
