It’s time for a break! When The Twilight Saga ended in 2012, Kristen Stewart filmed seven movies back-to-back, just wrapping things up recently with the film Equals, which, she tells USA Today, “tore her up emotionally.” That feeling is what’s led the actress to decide and take things in a different direction for a while.
“I’m taking some time off because I’ve been working for two years,” she revealed. “I’m an actor and that’s my art form, and because I started so young, I’ve always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to create. I’m going to take so much time off.”
So, what’s she going to do with all the newfound freedom? “I’m going to buy a live-work space in downtown L.A. and I’m going to make some [stuff] with my hands,” she said. “Literally, I made that decision a few weeks ago. I’m making a short film. I’m making a bunch of [stuff]. I don’t know how I’ll put it out, but I’m not going to hold it so previously close to me. I write all the time.”
Take a deep breath, though, K. Stew fans! She still has four movies coming out between this year and next, so there will be plenty of opportunities to see her acting chops at work.
