Cody Walker will be doing much more than just filling in for his late brother, Paul Walker, in The Fast and Furious 7. Instead, the 25-year-old will be joining the franchise full-time, and star in the remaining of its upcoming films.
After the 40-year-old actor’s sudden death in November, production halted on The Fast and Furious 7, and when it resumed, his brothers, Cody and Caleb, stood in as body doubles. And while Paul’s character will be retired after this movie, for which he shot most of his scenes more before his tragic passing, Cody will reportedly join as a completely new member of the cast.
“It still doesn’t feel real because sometimes, working in this industry, making films, he’d be away from his family three, four, six months at a time,” Cody explained in April. “My only interaction would be a phone call. I know it’s going to take a while. It’s going to take a few years before it feels real.”
The Fast and Furious 7 is scheduled to hit theaters on April 10, 2015.
