Slim Shady is back! For the first time since 2010, Eminem has released a solo tune titled “Survival.” The track will be featured on his new album, due out sometime this year, as well as on the soundtrack for Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The song premiered on Wednesday in an action-packed trailer for the video game. Give it a listen:
Although there has been no confirmed album announcement or release date, the President of the rapper’s record label, Shady Records, did reveal earlier this year that new music was on the way. “We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013,” he said. “He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when.”
Alright, well we’re almost three months past Memorial Day at this point…and still no album news?! Time’s tickin’…
Eminem’s last album Recovery came out in 2010, and featured hits like “Love the Way You Lie” and “Not Afraid.” Although he’s been featured on songs since then, including Bruno Mars‘ “Lighters,” “Survival” is his first solo track since that last record.
