WATCH: Trailer For Cory Monteith's Final Film McCanick

His legacy lives on. The trailer for Cory Monteith’s final film McCanick hit the web on Wednesday, just one month after his tragic death.

The intense 1:45 second clip shows glimpses of Cory’s character Simon Weeks, who is a drug-addict recently released from prison. After his release, he is hunted down by a narcotics detective with a secret that only Simon can expose.

The Glee star died unexpectedly from an accidental overdose on July 13, and admittedly had drug problems in the past, so this film obviously hits close to home. It will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 9, as will the late actor’s second remaining project All The Wrong Reasons.

Cory’s character on Glee, Finn Hudson, will be written out of the show in the third episode of this upcoming season. The show’s creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that Finn’s death will deal directly with the incidents surrounding Cory’s death, particularly drug abuse. Lea Michele, the actor’s real-life girlfriend, and the rest of the show’s cast and crew got back to set on Aug. 5, just one week behind schedule, and Season 5 will premiere on Sept. 26.
