FANS have been wondering about Taylor Swift’s whereabouts for some time. After all, the pop princess hadn’t been seen out in public since she was spotted shopping in London on Feb. 10, six days after performing at a pre–Super Bowl concert in Houston. As it turns out, Taylor may not have been visible, but she certainly wasn’t inactive: The “Shake It Off” singer has been dating English actor Joe Alwyn under the radar for months!
“Taylor and Joe are the real deal; this is a very serious relationship,” a source claims in a new report, adding that those close to the couple have known about them for months. In fact, Taylor, 27, is said to be so “besotted” with Joe, she’s rented a house in North London to be near him. Joe, 26 — a baby-faced, blue-eyed blond who still lives at home with his parents — is a virtual unknown to American audiences, having starred in only one film, 2016’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, that has appeared in Stateside theaters (actually, it came and went in quite a hurry).
Reportedly, Taylor had been going to great lengths to preserve their privacy, to the point of wearing scarves and hats as a disguise whenever they ventured out. And there’s a good reason why she wanted to be incognito while on Joe’s arm, says an insider. “When she was dating Tom Hiddleston last year, they seemed to be photographed everywhere — on the street, on the beach, even meeting his mother! The way she was trying to convince the world they were in love seemed laughably orchestrated, and it came back to bite her when they broke up after just three months.”
Taylor’s other recent romances, with Conor Kennedy, Harry Styles and Calvin Harris, also crashed and burned in the glare of the spotlight. “Considering Taylor’s dating history, it seems she can’t stand to be alone,” says a source. “But especially after her experience with Tom, it appears she’s learned her lesson with Joe!”
