Selena Gomez Breaks Down in Tears for Emotional New Music Video

Are you listening, Justin Bieber? After a few days of teasing fans on social media, Selena Gomez released a new song accompanied by a music video on Thursday…and there’s no doubt her on-again, off-again beau is the subject.

In “The Heart Wants What it Wants”, the 22-year-old sings about a back-and-forth relationship that she keeps coming back to, despite knowing it may not be her wisest decision.

For the video, Selena gets emotional, even getting choked up and shedding tears. “I was thinking…I know him, thought, and I know his heart and I know what he wouldn’t do to hurt me,” she narrates before the track begins. “But I didn’t realize I was feeling so confident and so great about myself, and then it just being completely shattered by one thing…by something so stupid. But then you make me feel crazy, you make me feel like it’s my fault. I’m in pain.”

The lyrics also give a shout-out to the “Slow Down” singer’s critics. “Save your advice ’cause I won’t hear,” she sings. “You might be right but I don’t care.”
