Rose McGowan indicted On Drug Possession Charges

‘ I will clearly plead not guilty’, a livid McGowan told The New Yorker.

Rose McGowan can’t catch a break.

The actress and activist, who is mourning the sudden death of her friend Anthony Bourdain and still speaking out about sexual assault claims against Harvey Weinstein, has been indicted on one felony count of cocaine possession in Loudoun County, Va.

An arrest warrant was issued for McGowan, 44, after “traces of a substance that was later identified as a narcotic”  were discovered in a personal item of hers she left behind after flying into Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2017.

That narcotic was later determined to be cocaine. Her lawyers have argued the drug was planted in her wallet while she was separated from it, possibly by someone working for Weinstein.“I had it in the side pocket of my backpack, and I left it on my seat as I went to the bathroom,” she told the New Yorker last November.

She tweeted United Airlines to help her find it, but once they called to say they found it, she immediately knew something was off.

“I was going to ASAP but then things started to get really weird. I knew I was being followed and that I wasn’t safe.”

McGowan hinted that after she put Weinstein, 65, under fire for his alleged sexual abuse, someone had been hired to follow her.

She believed this person is the one who put the drugs in her wallet, took it and then made it seem like it was hers.

If convicted, she could face 10 years in prison. A date for McGowan’s trial is expected to be set tomorrow, and she continues to maintain her innocence.

“I will clearly plead not guilty,” a livid McGowan told the New Yorker.
