'Marco Polo' Season 2 Secrets Revealed — 10 Updates On The Show's Exciting Return!

'Marco Polo' is back!

Marco Polo‘s second season is finally here! But before you binge watch the hit Netflix series’ latest offerings, here is all you need to know about the show’s return!

The truth behind your favorite characters will be revealed.

One of the biggest secrets revealed by Marco Polo‘s creator, John Fusco, is that the show will take on darker themes during Season 2. According to Fusco in a teaser video for the show’s return, Fusco said that the show’s characters will be dissected more closely as well, with new details of their lives and personalities being exposed!

The fights are more intense than ever.

The show’s cast members also teased that Marco Polo‘s second season would feature some sharper fight scenes and combat action.

The storylines may have you immediately hooked.

The season rings it at a lengthy 10 episodes, offering viewers the same amount of episodes as the pilot season. However, the film’s actors have commended the production, writing and directing teams for making the characters’ stories more complex for the new season.

Get ready for a few new faces on the show.

You can expect a major addition to the show’s cast, with Michelle Yeoh making her debut on the show as the Hand Maiden, a character first introduced at the end of Season 1. Yeoh even admitted to the Toronto Sun that Fusco had her in mind for the part even before she agreed to taking the role. “He was hoping I would play this part but it was not a definite yes,” she said. “When he ended Season 1, where the little emperor was handed over to the Hand Maiden, you never saw her face. So that was a very good set-up.”

There’s one battle you definitely can’t miss.

When it comes to those intense new fight scenes, Yeoh also teased that her character is involved in one of show’s most pivotal altercations. “The greatest fight scene of the series. In [Fusco’s] mind, it was me and Hundred Eyes,” she said. “The action sequences we have together are not just about fighting. It’s very, very deeply emotionally bonded. It’s not about wanting to take the life of the other person, but to subdue the other person and bring them back to the truth, which is more powerful.”
